TM Events Group brings the 12km Craypot Run, 12 km Moturata Views Walk and the 21 km Akatore Challenge using gravel road, farm paddocks, coastal tracks, beaches and wetlands. Either Run or walk and take time to take photos of breathtaking scenery while exploring rarely seen coastal views. Stop at the Seascape Cafe for complimentary coffee/tea with muffin situated at the 8km point and admire the views north and south of the Otago coastline. This is a once a year opportunity to access privately owned farmland using a separate course to our MTB event.
A 5km Family Beach walk and Under 14 race also feature. A scenic short walk along country roads and a wonderful stretch of beach has been added for those who want to experience the coast without the strenuous 12 or 21 km distances. Designed with families and younger children in mind, the course also features an Under 14 running race (minimum age 10) over the 5k.
Runners will be timed and provided their position in their relevant category and overall placings. Place getters in each category will be acknowledged and all runners/walkers are eligible for spot prizes.
Minimum age for the 21km race is 16. Applications under minimum age will be considered with proviso they are fully consented by an adult and will be at the discretion of the Coastal Classic committee.
Please DO NOT access privately owned land prior to the event. Thank You.
